2
Surrender the ownership of the plan—not the work of planning.
God establishes what rests in His hands.
3
James rejects presumption; Proverbs commands surrender.
Two faces of the same wisdom.
4
Foolish. Selfish. Planned as if tomorrow belonged to us.
Proverbs gives us a wiser way.
5
Do not stop planning. Stop pretending the plan belongs to you.

Proverbs 16:3 · NASB

Commitment is more than polite acknowledgment.

11
Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
Psalm 37:5 · NASB
12
The work is committed when the outcome is released.
God receives more than a copy of your plan.
13
Release your grip on what the plan must produce.
Transfer the weight to the One who can bear it.
14
Commit the work already in your hands.
Business. Family. Ministry. Decisions in motion.
15
Keep your hands open as the work proceeds.
Surrender must continue beyond the first prayer.
16
What you surrender Monday, do not quietly reclaim Tuesday.
17
II
God establishes the committed plan.
Established does not mean guaranteed as imagined.
18
Commit your works to the LORD And your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:3 · NASB
19
Kun—made firm, set, prepared to stand.
God supplies the foundation.
20
Commitment does not guarantee your definition of success.
It grounds the plan in God’s prevailing purpose.
21
The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
Proverbs 16:9 · NASB
22
Receive God’s redirection as guidance—not catastrophe.
His steps may differ from your map.
23
A surrendered plan no longer depends upon the planner.
Its security rests in God’s faithfulness.
24
When the plan changes, the surrendered heart is not crushed.
25
Seek security in God—not in your preferred outcome.
The faithful God still holds the redirected plan.
26
Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that."
James 4:15 · NASB
27
An open hand says both: commit it—and if the Lord wills.
28
III
Uncommitted plans invite self-deception.
God weighs what the planner cannot see clearly.
29
All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, But the LORD weighs the motives.
Proverbs 16:2 · NASB
30
We can call our ways clean while hiding our motives.
The Lord sees beneath the plan.
31
God weighs the spirit driving the decision.
A polished plan can conceal a corrupted motive.
32
Place both the decision and its motive before God.
Surrender refuses secrecy.
33
You cannot surrender the plan while protecting a motive God condemns.
34
Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 · NASB
35
Use wisdom, counsel, and analysis under God’s rule.
Your assessment is not the final word.
36
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:6 · NASB
37
Yada—know, recognize, give deliberate attention.
God is never bracketed out of the decision.
38
Bring every category of life under Christ’s lordship.
No plan stands outside His authority.
39
Your reaction to change reveals who owns the plan.
Name it, roll it to God, and leave it there.
40
When ministry plans change, ask what God is doing.
Return together to the congregation’s surrender.
41
Pursue faithful parenting without demanding control of the fruit.
Commit the work; trust God with the child.
42
Roll the work. Trust the Lord. Receive what He establishes.
43
Name the burden and transfer it to the One who can hold it.
Bring the plan and its outcome under God’s rule.
44
Believe in Christ and obey His gospel.
Repent, confess Him, and be baptized for forgiveness.
45
Open your hands. Entrust the burden to the Lord.
