2
Isaiah played his own song in reverse.
Nothing was hidden, and the message was grace.
3
God sang the judgment song again as a song of grace.
And the door is open to every enemy who will come.
4
I
The first song ended in judgment.
Isaiah 5:1-7
5
He dug it all around, removed its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. And He built a tower in the middle of it And also hewed out a wine vat in it; Then He expected it to produce good grapes, But it produced only worthless ones.
Isaiah 5:2 · NASB
6
" What more was there to do for My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?
Isaiah 5:4 · NASB
7
"I will lay it waste; It will not be pruned or hoed, But briars and thorns will come up. I will also charge the clouds to rain no rain on it."
Isaiah 5:6 · NASB
8
Left to ourselves, we bear worthless fruit.
No one can blame God for a fruitless life.
9
II
The second song turns every line around.
Isaiah 27:2-4
10
In that day, "A vineyard of wine, sing of it!

“I have no wrath” is not God overlooking sin.
Christ bore it at the cross.
14
and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
Romans 5:9 · NASB
16
The first song shows what we make of ourselves. The second shows what God makes of us.
17
III
The door is open to enemies.
Isaiah 27:5-6
18
"Or let him rely on My protection, Let him make peace with Me, Let him make peace with Me."
Isaiah 27:5 · NASB
19
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Romans 5:10 · NASB
20
God makes peace on His terms, never on ours.
He states those terms in the gospel.
21
In the days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will blossom and sprout, And they will fill the whole world with fruit.
Isaiah 27:6 · NASB
22
which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you heard of it and understood the grace of God in truth;
Colossians 1:6 · NASB
23
Which song is your life singing tonight?
Worthless grapes, or the vineyard God keeps?
24
Come and make peace with Him tonight.
Believe, repent, confess Christ, and be baptized for the remission of sins.
25
Christian, come home and abide in the vine.
The branch that does not abide is thrown away.
26
Let him make peace with Me.
Isaiah 27:5
