Lesson Objectives

Thesis

The slain and risen Lamb is worthy of all worship because He conquered through His sacrifice and purchased a kingdom for God from every people on earth.

Study Guide

1. No created person was worthy — Revelation 5:1–4

The scroll belongs to God. Neither power, knowledge, ambition, nor position qualified any creature to open it and carry God’s purpose forward.

1. What does the scroll in God’s right hand declare about who governs history?

2. Why did John weep when no one was found worthy?

2. The Lion conquered as the slain Lamb — Revelation 5:5–7

The elder announced Judah’s Lion and David’s promised King. John then saw a Lamb marked by death but standing alive. Christ’s sacrifice was the path of His victory, not a defeat He later repaired.

3. What do the titles “Lion of Judah” and “Root of David” identify about Jesus?

4. How does the standing, slain Lamb redefine victory?

The Lion’s victory is revealed in the Lamb’s wounds.

3. The Lamb purchased a present kingdom — Revelation 5:8–10

Heaven ties Christ’s worthiness directly to His blood. He purchased people for God across every tribal, linguistic, ethnic, and national boundary and made them a kingdom and priests.

5. Why can the church’s concern for the gospel never stop at familiar boundaries?

6. What does “You have made them to be a kingdom” say about Christ’s reign now?

4. All creation declared His worth — Revelation 5:11–14

Countless heavenly voices and every created thing answer the Lamb with worship. Power, riches, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing belong rightly to Him.

7. How should worship on earth agree with heaven’s confession?

8. What part of your schedule, conduct, or witness most needs to confess that the Lamb is worthy?
