Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 18, 2026 Last Updated: April 18, 2026
Welcome to Keeping the Faith, the personal online ministry archive of Preacher Ed Rangel. This site exists solely to preserve, organize, and share Ed’s lifelong teachings, sermons, and writings in a simple, non-commercial, faith-centered way.
We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information (if any) we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and how we protect it. Because this is a personal, non-commercial ministry site, we collect very little data and never sell, share, or use it for marketing purposes.
1. Information We Collect
Automatically Collected (Server Logs)
When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically records standard server log information for security and maintenance purposes. This may include:
- Your IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Date and time of your visit
- Pages viewed and files requested
- Referring URL (if you arrived from another site)
This information is not used to personally identify you and is only retained as long as necessary for site security, troubleshooting, and basic performance monitoring.
Voluntarily Provided Information
We do not require registration, login, or any personal information to browse, read, listen to, or download teachings.
If you choose to contact us by emailing rangellalo@gmail.com, we will receive only the information you voluntarily include in your message (e.g., your name, email address, and message content). We use this solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list or newsletter unless you explicitly request it.
Cookies and Tracking
We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics tools for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking. WordPress may set a few temporary, strictly necessary session cookies (e.g., for admin login state), but these expire quickly and do not track you across websites.
2. How We Use Your Information
-
Server log data is used only to:
-
Protect the site from abuse, spam, or attacks
-
Diagnose technical issues
-
Understand general usage patterns (e.g., which teachings are most visited)
-
Email correspondence is used only to reply to your message or fulfill your request.
We do not:
- Sell, rent, trade, or share your personal information with third parties
- Use your data for advertising or retargeting
- Combine your data with information from other sources
- Engage in automated decision-making or profiling
3. Third-Party Services & External Links
- The site is hosted on standard WordPress hosting. Server logs are stored securely by the hosting provider.
- Embedded media (e.g., audio players, YouTube/Vimeo links if present) may load resources from third-party domains. These services have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
- External links (e.g., to Bible.com) are provided for convenience; their privacy practices apply when you visit those sites.
4. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored on secure servers (location depends on your hosting provider). We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the site from unauthorized access. However, no website can be 100% secure.
Email messages are stored in a standard email service (Gmail), subject to Google’s privacy policy.
5. Your Rights
Because we collect minimal personal data, most formal data rights (access, deletion, etc.) are not applicable. However:
- If you have emailed us and wish for your message to be deleted from our inbox, simply reply and request deletion.
- You may contact us at any time with privacy questions or concerns.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the site or legal requirements. The date at the top of this page will indicate when it was last revised. Your continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
7. Contact Us
