The church at Thyatira was praised by Christ for love, faith, service, and perseverance—but condemned for tolerating corrupt influence that led believers into immorality and compromise. Christ warned of judgment on the unrepentant and called the faithful to hold fast until He comes. The lesson is clear: a church must grow in good works while refusing to excuse sin. Overcomers are promised fellowship with Christ and the reward of the Morning Star.
Life is a mist, and Scripture is clear that living only for what is “under the sun” leads to emptiness and disappointment. Ecclesiastes exposes the vanity of a Godless life, while James shows how trials build endurance and maturity. This lesson calls us to stop chasing what fades and to find lasting purpose by fearing God and obeying His Word.
